    This survey was planned as a joint collaboration between Healthwatch Rutland and East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group (ELRCCG). Both organisations were keen to know what Rutland people feel about primary care services.

    During visits to Rutland Care Homes we became aware of issues with access to dental services. We were told that lack of dental care for residents impacted negatively on their health and wellbeing and was a cause for concern.

    In line with national guidance issued in response to the Covid-19 pandemic, dental practices in LLR are currently closed for routine “face to face” dental appointments.

    Dental practices in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland will begin opening from 8 June 2020 but patients should contact their practice to check arrangements.

    In April 2024 we had the opportunity to deliver a presentation to the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland (LLR) Women’s Institute (WI) on the theme of dentistry. Each year the National Federation of WIs chooses a resolution to call for change on a current issue in society. This year’s resolution is based around dentistry.
