New state-of-the-art treatment facility opens at Stamford and Rutland Hospital
Day case procedures at the new building began on December 1, with 140 patients being seen and treated in the first week in areas including plastic surgery, orthopaedics, pain management and urology.
Other specialties are expected to follow imminently once the Unit becomes fully established over the coming weeks.
The new facility replaces the Greenwood Day Treatment Unit on the same site and offers specially equipped rooms and recovery bays for day case procedures.
Day Treatment Unit Team Manager, Jo Baron, said:
“As a team we are thrilled that this moment has arrived, and it has been wonderful to welcome the first patients over the past few days…. [We] are so incredibly grateful to have such a wonderful new space in which to work and most importantly, give care to our patients.”
