Our work over the past year focused on ensuring that the public and patient voice is heard in the development of health and social care services, to meet the needs of the Rutland community.
Events were held each day in Rutland during Dementia Action Week (19-23 May 2025) to raise awareness of dementia and the local support services available.
Healthwatch Rutland volunteers along with colleagues from Healthwatch Leicester and Leicestershire undertook Enter and View visits in November 2024 to the Leicester Royal Infirmary Ophthalmology Department.
People who pay for their own social care in Rutland (also called ‘self-funders’) highlight the strengths of current services and the need for better support during what can be a complex and emotional journey.
During the second half of 2024-25 we focused our community outreach work on targeted engagement to hear about the experiences of children, young people and families of receiving healthcare in Rutland.
