Annual Report 2024-25: Unlocking the power of people-driven care

Our Annual Report showcases our work and the positive impact your feedback and input have made to health and care services throughout the year

It is your feedback and input to our research that provides the evidence we use to raise awareness of health and social care issues and to improve care.

Over the past year more than 1200 people have shared their experiences with Healthwatch Rutland through our community outreach events and by contributing to our projects and research.

Highlights from our year include:

  • Drawing attention to the need for better co-ordination between NHS services and improvements to patient-facing communication and administration processes.
  • Bringing to light what is working well and where the gaps are in the provision of information, guidance and support for people who pay for their own social care.
  • Involving you in change by using your feedback to inform the development of new models of triage and response in pre-hospital urgent care services.
  • Helping you to find the health and care services you need.
  • Collaborating with the Rutland Strategic Overview and Scrutiny Committee to hold local NHS commissioners and national Government to account for poor access NHS dentistry for adults in the county.

“We face much change in terms of local government reorganisation, the reshaping of Integrated Care Boards and the merger of NHS England and the Department of Health and Social Care. In this time of uncertainty it has never been more important for people to talk to us.”

Dr Janet Underwood PhD, Chair Healthwatch Rutland
