These patients include:

  • 99.3% of patients aged over 80
  • 95.6% of patients between 75-79
  • 81.6% of those aged 70-74
  • Residents of all 11 care homes
  • Approximately 800 health and social care staff
  • 118 housebound patients

This week

Vaccination clinics at the Council office site in Catmose, Oakham are going ahead this week. If you have a booking, but cannot attend on the day due to the snow & ice, don’t worry. You cannot cancel your appointment but records will show who was not able to attend and you will be contacted to rebook. There is a reserve list each day, so you can rest assured that no vaccine will be wasted.

Invitations continue for patients from priority group 4 - aged 70 and over, and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable, to book. Vaccinations of housebound people continue and will take 2-3 weeks to complete. People from priority group 5, (aged 65-69) are starting, with invitations to 69 year olds and some 68 year olds first. You will receive an invitation by text message if you have a mobile phone, and by telephone if you don’t. Other systems are in place for people who cannot use the phone, and the PCN will make sure that no one is missed.

You now don’t need to wait to be contacted by the NHS if you are over 70 or clinically extremely vulnerable but have not yet been invited to book:

  • You can contact the PCN for a local vaccination in Oakham, by emailing Rutlandhealth.cvp@nhs.net (please do not expect an immediate response – you will be contacted within 72 hours.)
  • Alternatively you can call 119 or go online to book appointments at local hubs and centres in Leicester if you are happy to travel.

Patients designated as clinically extremely vulnerable will have received a letter from the government in March – July 2020 offering extra support.  (This does not include vulnerable patients who have long term conditions and are in priority group 6.) Patients aged over 68 and those who are clinically extremely vulnerable will receive invitations to book appointments over the next two weeks.
