People told us that they feel that they have no choice but to attend private dental surgeries even though they cannot afford to do so.

59% of respondents to our recent poll were unable to get an NHS dental appointment in the previous 12 months.

The local NHS wants to hear about your recent experiences of healthcare provided by local GP practices, in a new survey that has been arranged by NHS Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland and groups of GP practices, known as primary care networks.

Our local NHS wants to hear from children and young people in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.

Community hubs across Rutland are once again offering a warm space for local people to visit amidst the ongoing cost of living crisis.

The Rutland Healthcare Support service was formed back in 2008 and is still running today with a team of dedicated volunteers. With a break in service due to relocating, the organisation has recently opened their doors again in their new premises in Barleythorpe. The new base for the Rutland Healthcare Support shop offers free parking and is easily accessible through automatic doors just off the car park. They offer a sales service as well as items to hire such as crutches, toilet aids and wheelchairs from £1 per day.

You may have seen a familiar vehicle driving around Rutland over the last few weeks, the Rural Coffee Connect van is back serving free hot drinks to rural residents.

New research shows that patients at Oakham Medical Practice feel that the service has improved throughout 2023 but appointment availability and continuity of care remain the biggest issues.
