Peppers – A Safe Place

Pepper's - A Safe Place aims to provide anyone struggling with their mental health with a space to relax, take some time out and chat with friendly volunteers and like-minded individuals.

The group has seen a huge increase in locals asking for support and wanting a space to socialise in a welcoming and relaxing environment. The number of members attending in a week has tripled since January.

To accommodate this there are now 3 adult drop-in sessions in Oakham per week on:

Tuesday (10:30-12:30),

Thursdays (13:00-15:00),

Sundays (14:00-16:00)

In Melton there is a new session on Wednesdays (14:00-16:00).

Having seen the benefits that socialising, having fun and providing a non-judgemental or pressurising environment can have on members, Peppers will continue to expand and open further sessions as needed.

The Parent and Baby Group in Oakham, after being closed for a couple of months over the holidays, will be re-starting on 2nd September for weekly session 10:00-12:00. This is a space for any parents or carers who are struggling with their mental health to bring their little ones, share experiences and feel safe and welcome.

For anyone nervous about attending sessions, they are welcome to call 07714 503 556 and chat with a volunteer 1:1 to help them gain confidence in attending.

Please spread the word to anyone you think may benefit from Pepper’s services. You can get in touch to find out more or visit the Pepper’s website.
