Great News Regarding the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network- Public Involvement Fund

We are delighted to announce that we are winners of the 2022 Public Involvement Fund. We have been awarded £2,000 to support our work to involve the local community in health research, innovation and transformation.

This year the awards were in memory of Veronica Price-Job, who served as East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) Senate Co-Chair and was passionate about addressing health inequalities and the role of social care. To honour this, the award has a special focus on groups that address health inequalities.

Here in Rutland, we will be using the money to develop our Healthwatch Community Champions volunteering program.

“We are delighted to be awarded this funding; it will support our work to establish a brand-new volunteering program of Healthwatch Community Champions in Rutland. The funding will be used to train and equip a new network of champions to connect with their communities, share NHS health and social care information and listen to vital feedback from those around them. These views can then be used to shape and improve services for local people.”

Amy Crawford, Community Engagement Officer

This funding will help us to continue our work in the community and to hear from those whose voices are not always heard.
