Patients talk of cold waits outside the Uppingham Surgery

The practice is at present undertaking various refitting and remodelling works. In response to our enquiry about patients who do not arrive by car having to endure cold waits outside the building, the practice makes the following statement:
Uppingham Surgery

"At Uppingham Surgery we recognise and appreciate that waiting outside is not an ideal solution.  However, whilst Covid cases remain high in our community we feel it is a necessary precaution to protect our more vulnerable patients and staff from transmission of Covid.

By reducing the risk of transmission within the surgery building we reduce the risk of staff absence which enables the practice to remain operational.

If you use the hopper bus or have walked to your appointment, please let our receptionist know and they will direct you to an area inside where you can wait.

We envisage that this solution will need to remain in place over the spring and summer months, but by Autumn 2022 we hope the risks posed by Covid infection will be less so we will be able to implement an alternative solution which will remove the need to wait outside."

Patients who do not arrive by car for an appointment can let the receptionist know and will be able to wait inside.
