Statement on behalf of East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group and Oakham Medical Practice

Following a positive meeting on Wednesday 8 May, East Leicestershire and Rutland Clinical Commissioning Group and Oakham Medical Practice are pleased to confirm that daytime minor injury services will continue to be delivered from Rutland Memorial Hospital for patients and visitors in Rutland and surrounding areas.

Further discussions will take place over the coming weeks as the CCG and practice work together to shape the future of this important service. We will share more information in due course to ensure local people are kept updated on progress.

The Minor Injury Unit at Rutland Memorial Hospital can be accessed by patients in Rutland, Oakham and surrounding areas during the day, Monday to Friday.  The Unit provides x-ray services for possible fractures and staff can treat injuries such as sprains, cuts, bruises, minor burns and wounds, that are not critical or life-threatening.

Treatment for minor injuries and illness is also available in the evenings and at weekends via an urgent care service at Rutland Memorial Hospital”

We have sought further clarity on the opening times of Minor Injuries.
