There is still time for forces families to respond to survey

There is still time for Armed Forces families to share their experiences as part of a wide-ranging survey looking at aspects of military life.

The survey targets people in Rutland, Harborough and South Kesteven with a connection to the British Armed Forces and is the first of its kind to take place across the three local authority areas.

Regular armed forces personnel, reservists, veterans of all ages and extended members of forces families are all being encouraged to take part in the survey, which runs until 31 March 2019. More than 500 people have taken part already.

The survey has been developed by Rutland County Council, Harborough District Council, South Kesteven District Council and Healthwatch Rutland.

It is hoped that, for all three areas, the information gathered will help to improve local services for individuals and families who are connected to the Forces.

We’re really pleased with the positive response we’ve seen to the survey, so far. We want to shed light on any disadvantages of having served in the Forces and remove barriers. This includes housing and employment issues, isolation, loneliness and unmet mental health needs. The more we know, the more we can do to make sure Forces personnel, veterans and families are able to prosper as part of our community.
